How to cancel Sling TV
Last reviewed About 2–5 minutes
Canceling a recurring monthly Sling subscription is a short process on Sling's website. Your access continues through the date of your next regular bill, and you won't be charged again after that. Sling sends a confirmation email once it's processed.
1-Day, 3-Day, and 7-Day Passes can't be canceled or paused — they simply expire on their own.
Steps
Sign in to your account
Go to sling.com and sign in.
Select Manage
Open the Manage option in your account.
Select Cancel
Your access continues until your next regular bill date, and you'll get a confirmation email.
Things to know
- 1-Day, 3-Day, and 7-Day Passes can't be canceled or paused — they expire automatically, and you're not charged again until you buy another pass.
- Instead of canceling, you can pause your subscription for up to 6 months (standard pause) via Manage > See pause options, or use Pause Extra for 1–3 months for a $5/month deposit that's refunded when you restart, which also keeps your DVR content watchable.
- Deleting the app does not cancel your subscription — you still need to sign in and cancel through your account.
- Sling doesn't offer refunds for canceled prepaid or partial months, outside of special circumstances.
Frequently asked questions
- What happens to my DVR recordings if I cancel Sling TV?
- Sling saves your recordings for 90 days in case you resubscribe, though they're unavailable to watch while your account is canceled.
- Can I pause Sling TV instead of canceling?
- Yes, for up to 6 months with a standard pause, or 1 to 3 months with Pause Extra if you want to keep watching your existing DVR recordings for a $5/month deposit.
- Does deleting the Sling app cancel my subscription?
- No. You still need to sign in to your account and cancel it there — deleting the app alone doesn't stop billing.
