How to cancel ESPN+

Last reviewed About 2–5 minutes

ESPN+ can be canceled whenever you like, and it keeps working through the rest of your current billing cycle before it actually stops. ESPN doesn't prorate or refund the part of a period you don't use, and canceling only removes the paid subscription — your ESPN login itself keeps working for the free parts of the app.

If a partner like Apple, Google, or Roku is the one billing you, that partner's site or app is where you actually cancel, not ESPN's own account settings.

Steps

  1. Log in to your ESPN account

Use a computer or mobile browser.

  2. Open Account settings

Select your profile picture in the upper-right corner, then choose Account under 'Manage My Account.'

  3. Go to Manage Subscription

Click on the subscription under Plans & Billing.

  4. Cancel your plan

Select the plan you want to cancel, then select Cancel and confirm. This takes effect at the end of your current billing cycle.

Things to know

  • A subscription routed through a partner — Apple, Google, or Roku are named examples — has to be managed and stopped in that partner's own app or account settings, not in ESPN's account pages.
  • Canceling ESPN+ doesn't delete your ESPN account — you can still sign in and use the free ESPN app afterward.
  • ESPN doesn't offer refunds or credits for the part of a billing period you don't use.

Frequently asked questions

Do I lose my ESPN account entirely if I cancel ESPN+?
No. Your account and login still work for the free ESPN app — you just lose access to the ESPN+ subscription content.
Can I get a refund for the rest of my ESPN+ billing period?
No, ESPN doesn't offer partial refunds or credits when you cancel mid-cycle.
Where do I cancel if I signed up for ESPN+ through Apple or another partner?
You need to cancel through that third-party platform directly — ESPN's own account settings won't stop billing from a partner.
