How to cancel Cursor

Last reviewed About 2–5 minutes

Cursor subscriptions are managed through your dashboard at cursor.com/dashboard. After canceling, you keep access to paid features through the end of your current billing period, then your account transitions to the free Hobby plan automatically.

If you prefer to reduce your plan rather than cancel entirely, you can schedule a downgrade to the Hobby plan from the same billing page.

Steps

  1. Sign in to your Cursor dashboard

Go to cursor.com/dashboard and sign in to your Cursor account.

  2. Open Billing and Invoices

In the left sidebar, select "Billing and Invoices".

  3. Click Manage Subscription

Select "Manage Subscription" to open your subscription settings.

  4. Cancel Subscription

Click "Cancel Subscription" and confirm your choice when prompted.

Frequently asked questions

What happens to my Cursor account after I cancel?
Your account moves to the free Hobby plan at the end of your current billing period. Your settings, codebase connections, and history remain — you lose access to paid-tier features like extended context and higher model usage limits.
Can I get a refund when I cancel Cursor?
Refund policies vary; check cursor.com or contact Cursor support for details applicable to your subscription type and billing situation.
Can I downgrade instead of canceling Cursor?
Yes. From the Billing and Invoices section of your dashboard, you can schedule a downgrade to the Hobby plan rather than canceling outright. This keeps your account active on the free tier.
