How to cancel Chegg

Last reviewed About 2–5 minutes

Chegg Study cancellation happens in your account on a desktop or laptop browser — Chegg's own instructions don't cover doing this from the mobile app. Once you confirm, you won't be billed again, and you keep access for the rest of your current period.

Steps

  1. Sign in on a desktop or laptop

Chegg's cancellation flow is only documented for a desktop or laptop browser, not the app.

  2. Go to My Account, then Orders

Find the subscription you want to cancel.

  3. Click Cancel Subscription

You'll be taken to a new page.

  4. Confirm the cancellation

Click the orange Cancel Subscription button at the bottom of that page. Once confirmed, you won't be charged again.

Things to know

  • You keep access to your subscription for the rest of your current billing period after canceling.
  • Chegg offers a pause option (up to six months) as an alternative — during cancellation, you'll be shown the option to pause instead of fully canceling.

Frequently asked questions

Can I pause my Chegg subscription instead of canceling?
Yes, for up to six months. During the cancellation flow under My Account > Orders, you'll be offered a Pause option in place of fully canceling.
Will I be charged again after I cancel Chegg?
No. Once you confirm the cancellation, you won't be charged again, and you keep access through the end of your current billing period.
Can I cancel Chegg Study from my phone?
Chegg's help documentation describes the cancellation steps for a desktop or laptop browser rather than the mobile app.
